Neil Grace I love this record! Not my standard fayre but done to perfection. Beautiful arrangements with repetitive, almost hypnotic rhythms.
Although the lyrics border on nonsensical to me it will be a staple of my musical arsenal for a long time.
Dark synth-laden pop and fairly gothic in parts but ultimately very catchy. Good for evening driving if you ask me! Favorite track: Light Mind.

kreuztot Going rounds on the 80s memory lane. Favorite track: Sulfur.

leepomeroy If Depeche Mode now come across as your usual, comfortable, stadium-friendly firmament of the establishment, then these guys certainly hark back to the hedonistic early 90s era of that band. But with some (dare I say it?) proggy and doom metal chops thrown into the mix. I applaud.

about

Dark synthpop duo MIRACLE return with their sophomore full-length and first album in over five years, The Strife Of Love In A Dream. Consisting of Steve Moore, one half of the progressive synth-rock duo Zombi and composer of contemporary horror soundtracks including The Guest and Mayhem plus vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Daniel O’Sullivan, known for his work with a myriad of art rock luminaries including Ulver, Grumbling Fur, Æthenor, Sunn O))), Guapo, Mothlite and This Is Not This Heat plus special guest drums from A.E. Paterra (Zombi, Majeure, Maserati), MIRACLE play moody, stylish, synth-driven pop that evokes vintage Depeche Mode at their most dramatic heights. Self-recorded over a four year span in London, New York and Pittsburgh and mastered by Matt Colton (Aphex Twin, Caribou, Flume) at Alchemy Mastering, London, The Strife Of Love In A Dream is an incredible display of synthpop composition, infectious arrangements and gothic lyricism that is nothing short of a modern masterpiece.

Track Name: The Parsifal Gate
The cenobite tamed
Megastructural reign
The Parsifal Gate
Realtime has ceased
At the Godhead’s feet
Determining the separators

Where did you get the notion that time could turn into space?

Reclothing the emperor
The multiverse manifest in hypostasis

Libera me Domine
Uh huh

Single living organism
Hologrammatic lens
Malice information
Scanning the curve of an eggshell moon
Penetration of the medium

Libera me Domine
Uh huh
Track Name: Light Mind
You could be like the sun
You could be like the rain
Everywhere at once

Don’t reminisce your views
Communion is to touch
So why subject it too?

All things choose to fall away
Right thoughts lead to light mind

Seeking the master
She who travels all day long
Without ever leaving home

She studied rejection
She studied the negative
She studied it all
But the inversions intoned

She says…

I let go of the law
I let go of economics
I let go of control
I let go of the common good
Track Name: Night Sides
Night signs on the carriageway
Crystal stains on the windowpane
White hair follicles dilate
She hears the morning news
A lifetime to ignore the waves

Her unbridled mind
On the weeping way
Spirals fly on the visible plane

She said…

When I was young
I used to hear things
That were being said
Miles away
Weeks away
I was the only one
I was alone
I often thought myself someone else
At the same time
In a different place
Why is that so?
How can that be?
It was an unfair invasion!

She fears her own power
She never recognised her ability to heal
Track Name: Sulfur
A liquid form
Encased in gold
Inside a rock upon the cliff
Facing the echoing caves

The guard’s a witch
Deservishing round a black square
Bored of the air
The taste of green
The scent of Sulfur

Alone I made a door to which I found no key
Alone I made a key to which I found no door
Track Name: The Seventeen Nineties
Gaudy hotel pattern
Makes you feel secure in nostalgic immersion
The jewel of the lotus
Multi-storey carping
Metallic erosion

A universal destiny
Spinning crazily back through time to the Seventeen Nineties

An arcing curiosity
From the tempting dessert menu variety
Some details of his history and a wealth of life in good facilities

Using local materials
Pick a part and get a job in the ministry

Perambulating river
Taking note of the cherubic faces
Always looking for kindness
Narrative uniformity in the archetypal
Track Name: Dreamours
It’s time to turn the lights out
Turn off the radio
And focus on the shadows and the sounds
Of the man outside your window
Vaporous and lost and crying out...

Won’t you let me in?
It’s so cold
I might die

Echoing around the room as if he were inside
Frozen in the place you lie
Your mother is asleep
She is most devoted to the voice you hear so deep...

We’ll offer to take you down
Down where there’s no light
Over and underground
Chasing the tigers around
An ocean locked inside
Burning up the air
Lost but without a care
The shining point where all lines intersect
What does the water teach?
It’s nothing you won’t find at home
Attached to nothing other that itself
It harbours the life within
Immeasurable bodies growing smaller
Until nothing’s left
Except the moment
Track Name: Mind Environment
In a four cornered enclosure
Winter seems to be much longer
Made across the heavy water
That you ponder into light
In the morning you slip under
The veil of illusion
Feathered dust
At what hour was the owner
Allowing praise to affect
Your better judgement again
And again and again
Why the acrid embers?
Eyes made sore
Paying the blackened toll
Drinking the liquid gold
Track Name: Angelix
Quite simple
Your head
The rest of your body
Your temples
Every time you speak
So you can imagine
All this work
Find it in yourself
Find an opening
Rest and hold
Quite simple
End
